GUEST HOUSES
Greenhill Villas, Crickhowell. Tel 01873 811177. NGR SO/219182.
Lona Morgan has been providing comfortable beds & huge breakfasts for our clients for many years. Facilities are basic (no en-suite) but the rooms are clean and tidy. The house is on the main road and the front bedrooms can be a little noisy if you are not used to traffic!
Park Place, Legar, Crickhowell. Tel 01873 810878. NGR SO/216179.
This comfortable guest house is on the other side of the river, but still within walking distance of our base!
HOTELS
The Bear Hotel, Crickhowell. Tel 01873 810408. NGR SO/217184.
Our main base for the past 29 years! Lots of oak beams, roaring log fires and friendly, obliging staff all add to the unique, relaxing atmosphere of this incredibly busy, award winning, 3 star hotel. Conveniently situated on the main road at the end of the High Street, and a focal point of the local community, both accommodation and food are to an exceptional standard. The Bear is a firm favourite with many of our regulars - indeed, we often bump into past clients here! Early booking recommended!
The Manor Hotel, Crickhowell. Tel 01873 810212. NGR SO/213194.
The birthplace and former family home of Sir George Everest (the Surveyor General of India, and after whom Mount Everest is named), this welcoming hotel is set high on the hillside just under a mile from the centre of Crickhowell, with huge views over the Usk Valley. The rooms are comfortable, the food is excellent, and there is a small leisure suite comprising indoor heated pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam-room, and a compact but well-equipped gym.
The Dragon Hotel, Crickhowell. Tel 01873 810362. NGR SO/217183.
A small, cosy hotel in a central position and within staggering distance of our base. The building itself is extremely old, and the rooms are quaint with beams and uneven floors.
